 Depart the USA on your overnight flight to London. Day 2 Arrive Nairobi Arrive in London early this morning and continue on the flight bound for Nairobi, Kenya. You'll arrive in Nairobi late this evening where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The adventure begins in the morning! Norfolk Hotel Day 3 Nairobi-Masai Mara (BLD) After breakfast, you'll be transferred to the local airport to board your light aircraft flight to the world famous Masai Mara. Camp staff await your arrival at the airport and take you straight to your luxury camp on the banks of the Masai Mara. Since its opening in 1972, Governors has set the standard for luxury camps in the Masai Mara. You might also recognize the name as the highly acclaimed BBC series, Big Cat Diary is filmed in the area around Governors Camp. After time to settle into your tent, enjoy lunch and an afternoon game drive. Day 4 Masai Mara (BLD) This is Big Cat country and one of the best places to spot lion, cheetah and even leopard. The expansive savannahs surrounding your camp will be filled with plains game like zebra, wildebeest, impala, gazelle, giraffe and much more. Bird life is prolific and with the help of your guide's keen eyesight, you should be able to spot many of the more than 400 species recorded in the Mara. Your full day here gives you time to enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, as well as the surroundings of your camp. Day 5 Masai Mara-Mfangano Island (BLD) A light aircraft flight takes you to Mfangano Island on the shores of Lake Victoria. This lush paradise is a perfect spot to escape let yourself be immersed in the sheer tranquility of your surroundings. There is no schedule in camp - you can decide what you'd like to do as the day unfolds. Lake Victoria is the second largest freshwater lake in the world and it is also the source of the Nile River. Day 6 Mfangano Island (BLD) More than 350 bird species have been recorded around Lake Victoria and Mfangano Island. A resident ornithologist can take you on a walk around the island where you might spot majestic Fish Eagles nesting in the giant fig trees along the lakeshore. Keep on eye out for colourful Kingfishers, Bee-Eaters, Weavers and Swallows of of which are resident around the camp. Or, you might want to try your hand at fishing for Nile Perch in Lake Victoria. Nile Perch can grow up to 6 feet and weigh up to 300 pounds. They're great sport fish to catch as well as to eat. Day 7 Mfangano Island-Serengeti (BLD) After breakfast, a light aircraft flight takes you to Mwanza where you clear customs and immigration formalities for Kenya and Tanzania. A scheduled flight takes you from here into the Serengeti where you will be met by camp vehicles for the short drive to your luxury camp. Settle into your tent before having lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. The Serengeti is Tanzania's most famous national park and you will quickly see why. The expansive plains that stretch as far as the eye can see are dotted with plains game. Keep your eyes peeled, as you never know what action you might spot in the Serengeti. Day 8 Serengeti (BLD) Rise early this morning and enjoy some hot coffee or tea before heading out on a game drive. The Serengeti is magical early in the morning. The mist rises from the grassy plains as the sun begins to rise and shed its warming rays over the plains. The plains game of the Serengeti began their daily search for food and water -- and the predators of the plains like lion, cheetah and hyena watch for an easy meal. Day 9 Serengeti-Depart (BD) A final game drive enroute to the airstrip helps you bid farewell to this magical place. Your light aircraft flight takes you to Arusha where you continue by light aircraft to Nairobi. Enjoy dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant before transferring to Jomo Kenyatta Airport and your departure flight to London. Day 10 Arrive USA Arrive in London early this morning where you connect to the USA-bound flight, arriving later today. Welcome Home!
