Day 4 Johannesburg-Victoria Falls (D) Your adventure begins today as you fly to Victoria Falls. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your lodge, voted Zimbabwe's best lodge for the past 12 years. You're just 4 kilometers away from thundering Victoria Falls. Day 5 Victoria Falls (BD) Discover why the Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world as you tour the Zimbabwean side, which offers various vantage points along the width of the Falls, to view this natural phenomenon. Walk through the rain forest - a fun experience and quite beautiful. Stop at several vantage points to view the Main Falls, Horseshoe Falls, Rainbow Falls, the Boiling Pot, Cataract Island and Livingstone Island. Witness the spray and thunderous noise, as millions of litres of water tumble over the Falls into a series of narrow gorges below. End the day the best way with a tranquil wildlife cruise on the Zambezi River, above the mighty Victoria Falls. One has a most unique vantage point to watch hippo, crocodile and various animals that come to the river’s edge to drink. Day 6 Victoria Falls-Imbabala Lodge (BLD) A road transfer takes you Imbabala Zambezi Safari Lodge, situated on a riverine fringe of the mighty Zambezi River where Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia and Namibia converge. The 5,000 acre concession has 14 kilometers of private Zambezi river frontage and borders the Chobe Forest Reserve, which is renowned for its massive Elephant population. Herds of up to 1500 elephants have been seen on the floodplains below the Lodge! Day 7 Imbabala Lodge (BLD) During your stay you can choose a game drive in 4x4 safari vehicles or bird watch by boat along the river. Walks with an experienced Ranger add a new dimension to the game-viewing experience. Day 8 Imbabala-Hwange National Park (BLD) After breakfast this morning, you'll transfer to the Victoria Falls airport for a light aircraft flight to The Hide, situated on the Eastern Boundary of famous Hwange National Park. Large East African-style tents all overlook the waterhole, allowing game viewing from your own private verandah. Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe's largest park and was founded in 1926 by a young game ranger named Ted Davidson. Hwange is host to 105 mammal species including 19 large herbivores and 8 large carnivores. On your afternoon game drive, watch for the gemsbok and brown hyena -- both of which are here in pretty reasonable numbers. Day 9 Hwange National Park (BLD) More game viewing on tap today. You might want to consider a bush walk with an experienced tracker. You can learn so much about animals by following their tracks. But walks reveal much more about the bush -- the insect life and how it relates to the flora and fauna are equally fascinating. Hwange is home to all of the Big Five and is also believed to have one of the largest populations of wild dog and elephant. Each day brings a new and exciting look at the fascinating wildlife. Day 10 Hwange National Park-Kariba (BLD) A light aircraft flight takes you to Bumi Hills Safari Lodge, situated on top of a hill approximately 55-km south west of Kariba town. With the Zambezi escarpment as its backdrop, the well-known Bumi Hills Safari Lodge overlooks the foreshore below and the vastness of Lake Kariba. Lake Kariba is one of the world largest man-made lakes. In fact, it's so large it is referred to as an inland sea. During your stay, enjoy game viewing activities along with a variety of optional activities (like fishing). Day 11 Kariba (BLD) A full day at Bumi Hills gives you time to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere along with some of the most incredible sunsets over Lake Kariba. Bird watchers will enjoy the wide variety of birds in the area. Why not take an optional walking safari today?
