Depart on your overnight flight to London. (Note: Depending on flight schedules, passengers west of the Mississippi may have to depart one day earlier.) Day 2 Arrive Nairobi Welcome to Nairobi where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Day 3 Nairobi-Amboseli (BLD) Your short light aircraft flight takes you to Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Settle into your lodge and enjoy lunch before an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is perhaps most famous for its elephant and on your drive you will surely see at least one family herd. Day 4 Amboseli (BLD) Rise early this morning to catch a glimpse of Mt. Kilimanjaro’s peak as the cloud cover lifts. On a clear day, the views of Mt. Kilimanjaro are magnificent. Amboseli has five distinct wildlife habitats which support game like gazelle, impalla, giraffe, zebra, kudu, bushbuck and much more. The swamps attract hippo and a wide variety of birdlife like rufous-bellied heron and spike-heeled lark. Day 5 Amboseli-Samburu (BLD) Your light aircraft flight takes you back to Nairobi where you connect to a light aircraft flight to Samburu. Samburu is one of the best places to spot the elusive leopard, so be sure to scan tree limbs in case one is snoozing the afternoon away. Day 6 Samburu (BLD) Samburu is home to several species rarely found in other parts of Kenya. Look for the Grevy’s zebra, which has thinner and more vertical stripes. Also look for the “giraffe-necked” gerenuk. This graceful member of the antelope family is a picky eater, preferring the succulent leaves at the top of tree branches. Fortunately, it can stand on its hind legs for long periods of time in order to reach those perfect leaves! Day 7 Samburu-Masai Mara (BLD) our journey takes you to Kenya’s most famous park today - the Masai Mara. Have your checklist ready for this afternoon’s game drive, as the plains of the Mara are usually dotted with game as far as the eye can see. Grant’s and Thompson’s gazelle, Maasai giraffe, waterbuck, wildebeest and Burchell’s zebra are all plentiful in the Mara. Day 8 Masai Mara (BLD) Thanks to the constant food source, the Mara is also host to the predators like lion, leopard and cheetah - along with spotted hyena and side-striped jackal. The nearby Tana River is host to several hippo pools where you can usually find dozens of eyes peeking up from the water. Day 9 Masai Mara-Depart (BLD) A light aircraft flight takes you back to Nairobi where you stop for lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant to sample unusual meats like ostrich and crocodile. Spend some time at the Giraffe Center where you have the chance to feed the Rothschild giraffe. You'll have time to freshen up in our VIP Partner Lounge before heading to the airport for the overnight flight to London. Club Lounge Day 10 Arrive USA Land in London this morning and continue on the USA-bound flight, arriving home later today.
