| After breakfast, your drive takes you south to the Tanzania border and into Arusha. After lunch, continue by road to the scenic Ngorongoro highlands and Gibbs Farm. Charming ensuite cottages are surrounded by a traditional English garden, with stunning views of the Ngorongoro Conservation area. For the next 2 nights you will feel as if you are staying with close friends. You'll have an opportunity to learn about growing coffee and see the farm first hand. | | Gibbs Farm | | | | Day 4 Gibbs Farm | BLD |
| There are lots of activities to choose from today. You might like to take a walk to the waterfalls and visit the "elephant caves". The more adventurous could opt for a mountain bike trip. To relax, perhaps an African spa day? | | Gibbs Farm | | | | Day 5 Lake Eyasi-Ngorongoro Crater | BLD |
| Soak up the views this morning. Your drive takes you back into the central part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and one of the most dramatic sites on earth - the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. Two and a half million years ago, Ngorongoro was an active volcano. Over time, molten lava solidified and formed a crust over the top of the volcano. When the lava flow subsided, the crust collapsed and formed the world's largest perfect caldera. Today it is home to a breathtaking array of wildlife and habitats. | | Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge | | | | Day 6 Ngorongoro Crater | BLD |
| This morning, descend some 2,000 feet to the crater's floor for a spectacular half day of game viewing. Supporting more than 25,000 mammals, the crater is home to a wide variety of both herbivores and carnivores. Zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and eland are abundant. With such a rich food supply, carnivores like lion, hyenas and leopard are also at home in the crater. Watch for the kori bustard (the world's largest flying bird) to see if you can spot its elaborate territorial display during breeding season. | | Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge | | | | Day 7 Ngorongoro-Serengeti | BLD |
| Leaving Ngorongoro today your first stop is at Olduvai Gorge. After excavating the site for more than 28 years, Mary and Louis Leaky unearthed one of the world?s most dramatic discoveries: the partial skull of "Nutcracker Man", dating back 1.75 million years. Continue into Tanzania's most famous park - the Serengeti - and your private mobile tented camp. | | Private Tented Camp | | | | Day 8 Serengeti | BLD |
| The name Serengeti is derived from the Maasai word "siringet", which means endless plains. Appropriately named, every year the Serengeti plays host to one of the most impressive migration's of herbivores found in the world. Game-viewing is exciting year-round, as the Serengeti supports a large population of the Big Cats. Be sure to watch the kopjes (small granite hills) closely as lions love to retreat to a kopje to rest after a kill and they are also perfect lookout posts for cheetahs. | | Private Tented Camp | | | | Day 9 Serengeti | BLD |
| Continue game viewing as you spend another full day in the Serengeti. | | Private Tented Camp | | | | Day 10 Serengeti-Depart | BLD |
| A morning light aircraft flight takes you to Arusha where you stop for lunch before continuing by road to Nairobi. Day rooms are available for freshening up before a farewell dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant. Depart on the overnight flight to London. | | Panari Hotel (Day Room) | | | | Day 11 Arrive USA | BD |
